About

Dr Emily Shao is a dermatology registrar with interests in complex medical dermatology, skin cancer detection, paediatric dermatology, and hair disorders. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and trained at several hospitals across Queensland.

In addition to dermatology training, Emily has extensive experience in general medicine, holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney and a PhD from the University of Queensland through QIMR Berghofer.

Dr Shao works in Brisbane. She has interest in treating and managing disorder of the skin, hair and nails, including but not limited to:

  • Skin Cancer & Pre-cancerous Lesions

  • Eczema and Dermatitis

  • Psoriasis

  • Acne and Rosacea

  • Hair and Scalp Disorders

  • Pigmentation Disorders

  • Managing skin conditions in pregnancy and lactation

  • Vulval and genital skin disorders
